Since 2008, Bio Pet Collars has been providing custom-made dog collars and leashes made of BioThane®. Our business started when we set out on a mission to find a comfortable collar for our boxer who had severe skin allergies. She loved the outdoors, so BioThane was the perfect material that offered comfort and durability.

About BioThane®
A group of engineers who worked for BF Goodrich created BioThane®. They recognized the demand for a more flexible and high-performance horse racing harness. For the tack and harness industry, they worked with horse owners to create a line of synthetic belting. This side project grew to become the development of BioPlastics.
BioThane® is a polyester webbing with a protective polymer coating. It has completely changed the creation of equine belting products. Since this product is rooted in the equine industry, its strength, durability, appearance, and performance are important.
BioThane® has superior features unmatched in the coated webbing industry. This product is guaranteed to outperform and outlast other materials such as nylon, vinyl, and leather. It also maintains flexibility in the cold very well.

Gold Series BioThane®
The material we used for this series has a shiny finish. We provide two options:

BioThane®
Beta Series BioThane®:
This series of BioThane® is the closet thing to leather you will find. It comes in two different weights, super heavy and standard. We use the super heavy on all of our leash products and the standard weight on all of our collar products. There is no strength difference between the two weights. We use the super heavy for our leashes as it gives more of a feeling of "volume" in the hand. We use the standard weight on the collars as it is not as thick when doubled over and lays better when worn as a collar. The Beta series, as like the Gold series, is constructed of a polyester webbing which results in a incomparable break strength of 1000 lbs. This coated combination of material is in compliance with the FDA skin sensitivity requirements which makes it safe for dogs and humans that have sensitive skin or skin allergies.
Beta Series Reflective BioThane®:
The Beta series comes in a select few colors that have a reflective option. The reflective option is visible from more than 100 yards away in the woods and features only the best 3M reflective tape hot welded to the material. With this process it makes peeling the 3M tape away from the material extremely difficult unlike other reflective collars. The 3M tape that is used is the same highly visible durable material that is used on construction safety vests, emergency clothing and other high visible apparel where quality and durability is of the utmost importance. This option is essential if you are out in low light areas or in high traffic areas and visibility is a must.
Beta Series Round BioThane®:
Round Beta BioThane® is a great alternative to the traditional flat Beta BioThane®. It is great for standard leashes, tracking leads, slip collars, slip leashes and any other ideas you can come up with. The round Beta series, as like the Gold series and flat Beta, is constructed of a polyester webbing which results in an incomparable break strength of 500 lbs and meets all FDA requirements making it safe for dogs and humans that have sensitive skin or skin allergies.
